How to set up the VPN PC

Download the program from the link below to install the VPN software on a Windows machine.

Download, Unzip, and Install the application. 

Select "Configure VPN" when installation is completed.

Enter the following in the three info bubbles in this order. The rest of the settings stay the same:

Connection Name: CSHL

Description: CSHL

Remote Gateway: vpn.cshl.edu

Press "Save". After this, you should be able to log into FortiClient using your User name (not full email), and Password.

Open the Forticlient Console, and Unlock the Lock icon in the right corner using your computer's Admin password. Then select the Gear icon, and under VPN OPTIONS check the box that says Preferred DTLS Tunnel. Then close the Forticlient Console.

Once you have VPN set up, you can access Intranet, ESS, internal lab servers, the Information Technology web site at http://intranet.cshl.edu/it/, the Helpdesk ticketing system at http://helpdesk.cshl.edu and more. 

*Please note that if you are doing this on campus you may need to do this on the Guest or Public WiFi. 

If you are on the internal campus network (plugged in to ethernet, on OC-CSHL, LC-CSHL or UC-CSHL) this may not work.
