Creation date: 8/22/2023 2:01 PM    Updated: 8/22/2023 2:01 PM   elzar hpc maker software
The maker pipeline is a software tool that can annotate genomes using various types of evidence, such as repeats, ESTs, proteins, and ad-initio gene predictions.  It can also produce quality values for the annotations and allow users to train and improve gene prediction algorithms.
→ It can also create genome databases that can be loaded into GMOD or viewed in Apollo.

In our HPC environment, maker can speed up the annotation process and take advantage of parallel computing.

To use maker,  logon to either bamdev1 or bamdev2.

From the command-prompt run:

This will load the requisite modules.
