Office 365 & Outlook: Remove and Re-Add Account (iOS)

Before starting, ensure you have your Office 365 login credentials and can complete Duo authentication.

These steps are verified on iOS 18.3.1.


⏏️ Part 1: Remove the Old Account

  1. Open Outlook – Tap the Outlook app icon on your iPhone.
  2. Swipe left-to-right on the left side of the screen to reveal mailbox list.
  3. Go to Settings – Tap the gear icon in the bottom-left corner.
  4. Select "Accounts" – Tap Accounts under "General."
  5. Delete the Old Account – Tap on Account name, scroll down to "Remove Account."
  6. Confirm Deletion – Tap "Remove" again when prompted.

🔄 Part 2: Add the New Office 365 Account

  1. Open Outlook – Launch the Outlook app again.
  2. On open, you will be prompted to "Add Account." Tap on prompt.
  3. Enter CSHL email address on the next screen.
  4. Enter Credentials – Type in your CSHL email address and password.
  5. Complete Duo Authentication – Follow the on-screen prompts to complete Duo verification on your mobile device.
  6. When prompted to Add another account, select "Maybe later."
  7. Choose whether or not to Enable Notifications. You can also do this later in Settings.

⏯️ To enable or disable Focused Inbox:

    1. Swipe left-to-right on the left side of the screen to reveal mailbox list.
    2. Go to Settings – Tap the gear icon in the bottom-left corner.
    3. Select "Mail."
    4. Toggle "Focused Inbox" for your preference of Off or On.


Additional Notes

  • If Duo authentication fails, refer to the Duo support documentation for troubleshooting.
  • Ensure the Office 365 account is properly configured on the server before adding it.
  • If you have multiple accounts, repeat these steps for each one.
