1. Go to https://login.mimecast.com
For each message, you’ll see:
Sender email address
Subject line
Date received
Reason held (e.g., spam, suspicious content, policy rule)
Click on a message to view more detailed content, including headers and message body (if allowed by admin settings).
Next to each message, you can choose:
🛑 Report: Flags the email as spam or phishing and sends the message to Mimecast for further analysis.
👍 Release: Delivers the message and allows future emails from the same sender.
⚠️ Note: If the message is part of a phishing campaign or looks suspicious, contact IT before releasing it.👎 Reject: Prevents future emails from the sender and deletes the current message.
- Regularly check your On Hold Messages (if you don’t receive Digest Emails)
- Avoid over-permitting—only approve senders you trust
- Be cautious with messages marked as phishing or containing dangerous attachments
- Contact IT if something critical is being blocked frequently
